Umrah visa status check: what each status means
Checking the status is the easy part. Knowing whether the word on screen means wait, act or panic is what people actually need — so here is every umrah visa status you can see on the official Saudi portals, what it means, and what to do next.

How to check the status in the first place
- Get your reference number
Every umrah application has a visa or application number, and your agent has it. Some checks work on passport number alone, so try without it before chasing anyone.
- Open the right official portal
visa.mofa.gov.sa holds the Saudi Foreign Ministry's visa record and needs no login. If your agent applied through Nusuk, use nusuk.sa or the Nusuk app with the account the application was made on.
- Enter your details exactly
Passport number exactly as printed including letters, your own nationality — not the country you are flying from — and Umrah as the visa type. Then the captcha.
- Read the status against the table above
Match the word on screen to the row. Most of the anxiety around umrah visas comes from not knowing that “under process” is completely normal.

What does “under process” mean on an umrah visa?
It means the application has been received and is in the queue at the Saudi side. It is the normal state for the first 24 to 72 working hours after submission and needs no action from you.
What does “issued” mean?
Issued means the visa is approved and the printable visa exists. Ask your agent for the PDF, or print it yourself from the MOFA portal, and check that your name matches your passport exactly.
My umrah visa says rejected — what now?
Most umrah rejections are document quality problems rather than refusals of the person: a photo that fails the specification, an unclear passport scan, or a name that does not match the passport. They can usually be corrected and re-applied quickly, so ask your agent for the stated reason first.
How long does an umrah visa take to be issued?
Commonly 24 to 72 working hours once the application is properly submitted, though it stretches in peak season — the Ramadan run-up especially. If you are past that window and still under process close to your travel date, treat it as urgent and speak to your agent.
Why does the portal show “no information found”?
Most often the application has not yet reached that system, or a character in the passport number is wrong. Re-check the number, confirm you selected your own nationality, and try the other portal — MOFA if you tried Nusuk, or Nusuk if you tried MOFA.
